On Saturday, former Seattle Seahawks‘ Duane Brown was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport for allegedly owning a concealed weapon. According to ESPN, Brown, the five-time Pro Bowl, posted bail for $10,000 and was released at 11:32 p.m. PST.
Brown is due back in Los Angeles Superior Court next month to face the charge, which is a misdemeanor.
TMZ reported that the weapon was not loaded and was found in Brown’s baggage by airport security. He was arrested and detained at 3:08 p.m. PST.
Duane Browns’ time with the Seahawks
Brown started 17 games for the Seattle Seahawks this past season, his fifth with the franchise, and he became a free agent this offseason. He was selected to the Pro Bowl as a replacement after the San Francisco 49ers‘ Trent Williams pulled out due to injury. Last season for the Seahawks, Brown’s approximate value, according to Football Reference, was 11.
Although Brown had knee issues and his training workload was well managed, he has not missed a game in the past two seasons. He has placed seventh among offensive tackles in pass-block success rates since 2018 (91.8%).
ESPN’s Reporter Says Duane Brown is a good fit for NY Jets
On the Podcast Flight Deck, ESPN’s Rich Cimini shared that Seattle Seahawks free-agent tackle Duane Brown might make sense for the Jets.
Rich Cimini shared the Jets’ desire to add a “veteran” offensive tackle behind Mekhi Becton and George Fant. George Fant also shared with the media that one of his goals was to play the left tackle position.
“That was my thing, leaving Seattle I wanted to play left tackle,” Fant said shortly after Becton was drafted. “I feel really comfortable at the position. I think that’s where I offer the best abilities and [I’m] able to help the team the most.”
