Aaron Rodgers has done so much in his historic NFL Career. He’s a Super Bowl champion with the Packers, a Super Bowl MVP, a four-time MVP, a four-time first-team team all-pro, a second-team all-pro, and a 10-time Pro Bowler.
Despite all of his achievements and being a future hall of famer, there’s always criticism of Rodgers for only having one Super Bowl ring, and it was 13 years ago with Green Bay.
Kurt Warner argues that Aaron Rodgers needs another Super Bowl ring to be in the GOAT conversation, Warner is also a Super Bowl champion with the St Louis Rams.
Aaron is one of the best quarterbacks our league has ever seen,” Warner told Rose.
“But he doesn’t get into the greatest conversation until he gets to another Super Bowl. Having him switch teams, having him come back at 40 years-old off of an Achilles, the New York Jets who have never won and this could maybe set Aaron in kind of a different category. Kind of what I was able to do with Arizona that elevated me back to a different status than it would have been had I just had great success with St. Louis.”
Former Packers teammate and wide receiver James Jones, who won a Super Bowl with Rodgers in Green Bay agrees with Kurt Warner as well.
“I agree with Kurt Warner. He needs another Super Bowl to put him in the Peyton Mannings, to put him in the Joe Montanas, to put in the Patrick Mahomes, to put him in the elite and greatest quarterback of all time conversation,” Jones stated on the SPEAK’s Thursday night episode.
Despite the criticism of Rodgers, he’s very confident in his team this season, the Jets finished with a 7-10 record last season, and despite Rodgers missing all of the season, the offense did struggle a lot without him, putting up only 268 points in 17 games, which is 15.8 PPG, 29 out of 32 of all NFL Teams last season.
Despite turning 41 in December, and coming off an Achilles injury, there’s “lots of belief” in the Jets Locker Room.
There’s lots of belief [in the locker room],” stated Rodgers, “I’m always confident, you know me, I feel like if I’m on the field and doing what I’m capable of doing, No. 1, we’ve always got a chance, and No. 2, more than that, we’re one of those, you know, half dozen to 10 teams that can actually win a championship this year. So that’s what’s exciting.
Rodgers also called the Jets “must-see TV” for the 2024-25 season.
