Every year, the NFL does an amazing job honoring America’s veterans. Every Sunday, either on or before Veterans Day, the NFL on FOX does pre- and post-game shows from a military base.
This week, the Fox show was at a naval base in San Diego, and instead of it being about the great men and women who served our country, it was all about whether a former NFL player was disrespecting the national anthem but the way he stood.

A video showed all the football analysts standing for the national anthem with their hands over their hearts, but former NFL star Michael Strahan was seen standing with his hands by his waist.
Many called out the current NFL Hall of Famer for his stance, and many are saying it has something to do with last week’s election results. One former NFL broadcaster also had something to say about Strahan’s action.
Former NFL Broadcaster Calls Out Michael Strahan

Former NBC Sunday Night Football sideline reporter Michele Tafoya took to social media to comment on the video of Strahan and stated, “While @michaelstrahan is allowed his freedom of expression, this is really disappointing. It’s the fidgeting that also stands out. Look at all those servicemen and women around him. I’d love to know what’s in his heart…?

Tafoya has all the right to question Strahan’s stance on the anthem, but there isn’t much to get mad about at the end of the day.
Strahan was standing like everyone, and just because he didn’t have his hand over his heart didn’t mean he was disrespecting the men and women who served our country.
Even though the national anthem was very controversial, seeing the NFL honor our current and former military members is always awesome. Thanks to everyone who has served or is still serving our country.
