The Florida State Seminoles were the 10th-ranked team in the country before the start of the 2024 college football season. Florida State lost to the Boston College Eagles 28-13 on Monday night at home. With the loss, the Seminoles drop to 0-2 on the year overall and they are 0-2 in ACC Conference play.
During the game on Monday night, former Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis was trending on Twitter. Florida State quarterback play has not been the same without him.
Former Florida State Seminoles Quarterback Jordan Travis Trends On Twitter During Boston College Game
With the way DJ Uiagalelei performed on Monday night against the Boston College Eagles, Jordan Travis’s name started to trend on Twitter during the game. Florida State’s head coach Mike Norvell won a lot of games with Travis as his quarterback and hasn’t had much success with anyone else at quarterback.
This is what some fans had to say about the former Seminoles quarterback on Monday night:
The fall off from Jordan Travis to DJU is the biggest fall off in college football since the fall off from Trevor Lawrence to DJU.

I severely underrated the college career of Jordan Travis.

Reminder that @FSUFootball extended Mike Norvell for 8 years at 10 million a year
He’s now 2-9 without Jordan Travis

Travis last season completed 63.9% of his passes for 2,756 yards, 20 touchdowns, and two interceptions. He only rushed for 176 yards on 73 carries and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 2.4 yards per carry. The former Seminoles quarterback played in 11 games a season ago for Florida State until he suffered a season-ending injury.
He was a fifth-round pick (171st overall selection) in the 2024 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. Travis is still recovering from his season-ending injury a season ago.
Florida State Missed the College Football Playoffs
Last year, many people were outraged that the Seminoles missed the playoffs despite winning the ACC and going undefeated before playing in the bowl game. A one-loss SEC Champion, the Alabama Crimson Tide made it in over them.Well, many wondered if the college football playoff committee was right about leaving Florida State out of the playoffs after all because Travis was injured at the time of the selection show. It still felt interesting that they were left out of the playoffs last season.
At the time, it felt like the wrong decision. In the end, it was the right decision to leave the Seminoles out. They have not been the same team since losing to the Georgia Bulldogs in a bowl game a season ago.
