The Seminoles have listed the starting quarterback as DJ Uiagalelei or Brock Glenn for the Tigers game. Uiagalelei is the current starter for the Seminoles and has notably taken a major step back from his performances a year ago. Fans and analysts alike have called for Uiagalelei to be benched for weeks now, and may finally get their wish after the 1-4 start.
Uiagalelei currently has 1,065 yards passing, four touchdowns, and six interceptions along with a quarterback rating of 34.4.
The Seminoles have lost games to Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, and now SMU thus far into the 2024 season. Florida State was not expected to lose more than three games this season by the majority of college football media personalities.
Florida State Seminoles Holding Position Battle For Starting Quarterback Role
Florida State hit a new low for the program as new face SMU put up 42 points against the Seminoles in the recent defeat. The Mustangs have a solid team this year but were not expected to defeat the Seminoles in the fashion they did before the season started. SMU entered the game as near six-point favorites and almost matched the 46-point over/under by themselves.
As things continue to unravel for coach Mike Norvell, it seems as though the staff may finally consider making the quarterback change that the fans have asked for.

Many other fans think that the Seminoles have much bigger problems on their hands, with the issues rooting themselves deeper in the program than the quarterback position.

Should be an exciting game with this quarterback gamble.

Tell all the fans to make sure to bring a book!

Some fans have also questioned the move, as Glenn would have to face one of the toughest teams remaining on the schedule for Florida State.
If the Florida State Seminoles staff chooses to start Glenn, it should be interesting to see what the offense can do. Glenn is largely unproven with his only real showing coming last season during the blowout to Georgia, in which Glenn did not have many of his teammates.
