Florida State Fans Turn On HC Mike Norvell Even More After Latest Remark

The Florida State Seminoles football team is having a “worst case scenario” start to their 2024 season.  Going 0-2 in your first two games against Georgia Tech and Boston College when you started the season ranked #10 isn’t ideal.   In fact, it is so bad that there isn’t much you can say after that second loss that would help the situation.

Mike Norvell, FSU’s head coach, tried to do just that.

After a tough loss to Boston College that has left the Seminoles football program spiraling, head coach Mike Norvell tried to express how frustrated he was:

Per Andrea Adelson with ESPN, Norvell said after the game Monday night that he was “sick” with how the season has started. He called his preparation for the season a failure, but said the Seminoles can accomplish good things this season:

You’ve got a football team that nobody envisioned ever being where we are and having disappointment, having failure, but I do believe in what this team can do,” Norvell said. “I believe in what this team can accomplish.

“There’s going to be plenty of negativity around this program. I understand that. When we perform the way we just did, that’s all part of it. But for our football team, you’ve got to stay together, and you’ve got to make sure that you’re there for each other.

Norvell couldn’t articulate why FSU wasn’t prepared against Boston College on Monday night. Traveling to and from Ireland isn’t an easy feat. But Notre Dame was able to take care of business in Ireland and their turnaround game last year.

Norvell’s plan to “accomplish good things” this year and that he is “sick” over the loss, still didn’t even come close to sitting well with fans:
