The Florida Gators reeled in another four-star recruit, landing defensive lineman Gavin Hill. The 6’3 DL will stick around his hometown and play college football in Gainesville.
Hill landed an offer after an impressive performance in a camp hosted by the University of Florida. He returned for an unofficial visit to the campus, where he informed the Gators of his commitment. The Gators grabbed their second top 300 recruit this week, snatching edge rusher Isiah Nixon a few days prior.

Billy Napier and the coaching staff were impressed with how athletic Hill appeared in the college’s camp. Although he signed as a defensive lineman, he also plays tight end. The Gators gave him reps at tight end and possibly see the potential at that position.
Hill compiled 19 tackles, with nine tackles for a loss and three sacks in his junior year. ESPN provided Gavin Hill a scout grade of 81 and is 38th at his position. He ranks 262nd out of ESPN’s top 300 in the class of 2023.
The University of Florida landed its eighth class of 2023 recruit. Hill joins Isaiah Nixon, Aaron Gates, Knijeah Harris, and his current high school teammate, Creed Whittemore, as the fifth four-star athlete to commit to playing in the Swamp. The Gators 2023 recruiting class boosts from No. 41 to No. 36 in the 247Sports team national rankings.
