It didn’t take long for Florida’s head coach, Billy Napier, to start going after Gator fans after his team lost 41-17 against Miami on Saturday.
Florida looked like one of the worst teams in the country and let Miami have their way with them for all four quarters.
Many Gator fans have had enough of Napier and called for his job after the loss, but the 45-year-old head coach won’t be going anywhere at the moment, so Florida fans are stuck with him.
Fans usually overreact to many things their teams do, but Florida fans have a serious issue with Napier and the program’s direction.
Since Napier became the head coach two years ago, he has yet to have a winning season, and the program looks worse than it was when he took it over in the winter of 2022.
It will only worsen from here on out because Florida has the hardest schedule in college football this season. It would be a shock if they got to six wins and became bowl-eligible.
Gator fans can’t take another year of not going to a bowl game, and on Monday, Napier had some words for the people who support his team.
Billy Napier Takes A Shot At Florida Fans
During Billy Napier’s press conference on Monday, he stated his team needs to get to work on the football part, become more consistent, and not focus on what some guy in his basement is saying in rural central Florida.

Napier crossed the line with this comment. Attacking fans who support your team no matter what is not a good look.
It was embarrassing for fans to watch the Gators’ horrible performance on Saturday, so of course, they were mad, and taking a shot at them was not the right move.
This needs to be a time when Gator fans and Napier come together, and both parties need to stop going after each other. Fans need to stop calling for Napier to get fired, and the head coach can’t be picking on them.
The season will be difficult, and the last thing anyone needs in Gainesville is the head coach and fans going after each other.
