Florida had a day they would look to forget in their season opener against Miami on Saturday afternoon. The Hurricanes walked into the Swamp and beat up the Gators 41-17, making it a long day for the players and head coach Billy Napier.
Napier was already on the hot seat coming into the season after failing to finish with a winning record in his first two seasons, and his seat got a lot warmer in the past 24 hours.
Florida let Miami’s quarterback Cam Ward throw on them all day, and the Gators didn’t even look like a Top 50 team in the country.
Many Gator fans took to social media after the game and called for Napier to lose his job. There is a chance the 45-year-old head coach won’t make it past the season, but no coaching move seems to be happening, and Florida fans are stuck with Napier.
Napier was unhappy about his team’s performance on Saturday and sent a message to his players and fans.
Billy Napier Calls Florida’s Performance Embarrassing
Napier called his team’s performance against Miami embarrassing, and that’s how he feels, and his players feel the same way.
If you thought Florida’s performance vs Miami was bad… Billy Napier made things even worse

Florida has to figure things out now because they have the hardest schedule in college football. In two weeks, they will face Texas A&M, which isn’t even one of their hardest games left.
The Gators still have to face Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss, LSU, and Florida State, so things will get harder every week.
Florida only plays one school that is not in the Power Five since three of their four out-of-conference opponents are Florida State, Miami, and UCF, which are in the ACC and Big 12.Napier’s job is in jeopardy each week, and as of right now, there isn’t much he can do to save it since his team cannot pull off any big win.
Gator fans should start looking forward to 2025 because this season seems already cooked after what happened against Miami and the road they will face.
