When opposing teams walked into the swamp to play Florida, it was very difficult for them to pull off the road victory, but the last three years under head coach Billy Napier have made it easy on the opponents to steal wins in Gainesville, and it happened big time on Saturday.
The Gators welcomed their instate rival, Miami, to the swamp on Saturday afternoon, and they got destroyed 41-17. Miami’s quarterback, Cam Ward, was throwing the ball all over the field and looked like the best quarterback in the country.
Florida looked lost on both sides of the ball, and many Gator fans called for Napier’s job on social media. Some fans even got a little crazy and called for a former head coach to return and save the day.
Florida Fans Are Calling For Urban Meyer
Florida fans took to social media to call for their former head coach, Urban Meyer, to return and coach the team.

When Meyer was the coach at Florida, the grass was a lot greener because he won two national championships, and the program hasn’t been the same since.
Meyer hasn’t coached since he was fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021, and it is unlikely that he will return to coach the Gators anytime soon.
Meyer just turned 60 last month, and returning to coach a program that is far from winning is probably not in his plans at the moment.
It looks like Meyer is enjoying his role as an analyst on the Big Noon Kickoff pre-game show, and it will take a lot of work to get him out of the broadcast chair and back on the sidelines.
There is a chance Napier will get fired at the season’s end, but Meyer isn’t the head coach walking through the doors to replace him.
