The Florida Gators have been a team and program under an intense microscope over the past few years due to the level of play in Gainesville.
The Gators are 17-21 over the past three seasons, and last had a winning season in 2020 after winning eight games. Florida had an exceptional college quarterback in Kyle Trask at the time, as well as plenty of talented all around the football. Now, however, the Gators do not necessarily have that same level of talent playing on the field, or at least not the same caliber of play.

The state of Florida has been far from silent during this time, particularly after the hiring of coach Billy Napier from Louisiana. Napier was the coach of Louisiana since 2018, and in 2021 decided to accept the Florida Gators coaching job after being considered a top hiring option. Since accepting the position, Napier has a record of 14-17 with the program.
Napier was hired to “revive” the Florida Gators in a sense, and bring back the success and talent the program previously had. However, the coach has failed to find the same success on the field that he has found off the field, and the fans have grown tired.
Napier was recently included in a list of coaches that have a record of 5-8 across the past 13 college football games they have coached.
Records in last 13 games 🤷🏻♂️
Mack Brown 5-8
Sonny Dykes 5-8
Hugh Freeze 5-8
Lance Leipold 5-8
Billy Napier 5-8
Lincoln Riley 5-8
Deion Sanders 5-8
Scott Satterfield 5-8

Florida Gators Fans Calling For Billy Napier to Finally Exit Program

While Napier may appear to still have the Florida Gators program and trustees on his side, the fans do not seem to be happy about the coach remaining in his position.
The Florida Gators are far removed from the last truly successful season for the team, and even then the Gators still lost four games. If Napier cannot turn things around soon, changes will likely occur again to make sure the team improves. The Gators athletic department set that precedent after firing the previous coach, Dan Mullen, who was fired under similar circumstances.
If there are 100 Billy Napier haters, I am 1.
If there are 10 Billy Napier haters, I am 1.
If there is 1 Billy Napier hater, it is me.
If there are 0 Billy Napier haters, I am dead.
