Saying the Florida football team is in complete disarray is a massive understatement, with the three-time national championship-winning program going 18-23 since the start of the 2021 season. For the past three seasons, the former SEC power has been under the guidance of head coach Billy Napier, formerly of the Lousiana Ragin’ Cajuns. With Napier unable to get off to a hot start in 2024, many fans, pundits, and experts believe his time as the lead man for the Florida Gators is nearing its end. Sportsbooks also feel Napier’s is on borrowed time, offering odds for the program’s next head coach on Tuesday.
Five premium football coaches have odds of +800 or better per BetOnline, with current Colorado Buffaloes frontman Deion Sanders having the third-best odds to take over in Gainesville. Sanders has gone 6-9 at the FBS level.

BetOnline offers five names with +800 or better odds regarding a replacement for Florida football head coach Billy Napier. Liberty Flames head coach Jamey Chadwell has the best odds, posting a 16-1 record with the C-USA school. Meanwhile, he went 39-22 at Coastal Carolina from 2019 to 2022. Lane Kiffin, Deion Sanders, Eli Drinkwitz, and Brent Key also have short odds compared to others. Kiffin (Ole Miss) and Drinkwitz (Missouri) are already coaching the SEC, albeit with title-contending squads. Deion Sanders is the most popular name, although he has struggled during his first two seasons with Colorado football. However, he posted a 27-6 record with the Jackson State Tigers from 2020 to 2022.
The privately held online gambling company offers numerous longshot options, including former Florida football star and 2007 Heisman Trophy Award winner Tim Tebow. The 37-year-old stopped playing football in 2015 and 2021, transitioning to broadcasting and not coaching. BetOnline also posted odds for former Florida football head coach Dan Mullen, current Georgia Bulldogs bench boss Kirby Smart, and seven-time national title winner Nick Saban, who retired last year.
