Florida‘s 2024 football season has been a crazy rollercoaster ride. After their Week One loss at home to Miami, it seemed like there was no hope, and head coach Billy Napier would be fired sometime during the season or at the end of the year.

The Gators have turned it around the past few weeks, and this week, the university announced that Napier will be back for the 2025 season.

Many people still don’t know how to react to the news that Napier will be back since there is a great chance he will go three straight years with a losing record, but the school sees something in him that fans don’t.
One big reason why Napier will be back is because of true freshman quarterback DJ Lagway, who has made himself one of the best quarterbacks in college football.
Last week, the young star left on a cart with an injury against Georgia, and if Lagway hadn’t gotten injured, there was a chance they would’ve pulled off the upset.
Lagway is battling a hamstring injury, but he could start this weekend against Texas.

It would be awesome to see Lagway get the start this week. Even though Florida isn’t a great team, they are still fun to watch when Lagway is on the field. If the Gators put up a good fight without their star quarterback for half, they could do the same to Texas with a full game of Lagway.
Florida will take on Texas from Austin at 12:00 PM ET on Saturday.
