Christian Kirk’s Status
Earlier this Offseason, former Arizona Cardinals WR Christian signed a massive 4-Year $72 Million Dollar deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Kirk is accompanied by 32-Year-old Marvin Jones Jr. and former Raider’s WR Zay Jones in a refreshed WR room. The question remains, who will be the WR 1 for 2nd year QB Trevor Lawrence in 2022?
Christian Kirk finished 2021 as the WR 26 in PPR formats. He completed the season with 77 receptions, 982 yards, including five touchdowns. Kirk showed that he can be a reliable receiver with a few breakout games. Although he wasn’t as consistent as some fantasy manager would like his stats prove that he can be somewhat fantasy relevant.
A New Opportunity
Kirk’s new situation in Jacksonville has him as the lead dog in a WR room full of question marks. He got paid big time money and for that I firmly believe that Kirk will be the receiver to look out for in this group. Due to the fact that Kirk is not an established receiver like some other big and widely known names, he is at a discount in all fantasy formats. During mock drafts and comparing with the average ADP, Christian Kirk can be selected between both the 9th and 10th rounds.
Fantasy Outlook
The price you pay for Kirk is an absolute premium. The potential ceiling for Christian is massive for him to take a step up and take a significant role. Trevor Lawrence should bounce back from his mediocre freshmen season and be able to support the Jags wide receivers. If Christian Kirk is sitting in your later rounds, take a shot on true WR upside.
