Travis Kelce and the Chiefs said goodbye to their chances of winning the AFC West as they faced a devastating loss against the Houston Texans in a 20-10 matchup.
One of the turning points in the game was Kelce’s pass drop in the fourth quarter while the team was down with an overall score of 17-10.
The viral moment took place when Patrick Mahomes threw the ball to his tight end, the second time he did, Kelce ran upfield early, fumbled the ball, and saw it in the Texans’ Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.
After the pass drop, as the Texans celebrated the moment, Kelce was seen mourning his fumble on the sideline as he sat on the bench with his eyes closed.
Reacting to Kelce’s performance, many fans trolled him with Taylor Swift’s name while also brushing off Rob Gronkowski comparisons.
“Gronk would’ve caught it went back to the line of scrimmage picked up each dlineman with his free arm and trotted to the end zone with a spike(historically accurate Gronk play as a Steelers fan).” one fan commented.
“This man better be known as Taylor’s husband from now on . Wipe his name off its jersey and never put him and Gronk on the same stage again.” Another fan joked.
“Gronk was a real tight end. Great blocker and GREAT at contested catches. Travis Kelce is the type of TE who just runs around finds an open spot and sits there, then turns it up field. He is NO GRONK.” another fan bluntly brushed off Kelce-Gronkowski comparisons.
“EXACTLY!!! One catch defines a career you fools! This was exactly why he’s not the GOAT, we all know this was the missed catch that put him below Gronk, how embarrassing, he was above Gronk but now he’s def not in same sentence. One missed catch Cathy!.” another fan added.
“Travis Kelce is so washed and a loser that he didn’t even come out for the last drive. Just go retire, marry Taylor and be Mrs Travis Swift.” another fan advised
Travis Kelce Makes a Unique Admission About Relationship With Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce recently hosted George Clooney on his podcast called “New Heights” with his brother Jason Kelce on an episode aired on December 3rd.
The two started talking about relationships when Travis asked Clooney about how he has never fought with his wife of 10 years, Amal Clooney.
Clooney then redirected the question towards Kelce and asked him about his dynamics with his fiancée, Taylor Swift, and asked him if he ever fights with her, to which he said,
“Well, it’s only been two and a half years, and you’re right. I haven’t gotten into an argument. Never once.”
Kelce and Swift are expected to tie the knot in the offseason after getting engaged in August 2025.
