The Georgia Bulldogs are in a must-win situation this weekend against the Tennessee Volunteers. If Georgia can’t win this weekend, it will most likely knock them out of the college football playoffs picture entirely. The Bulldogs are already at two losses this season and the Volunteers only have one loss.
There are key injuries to quarterback Nico Iamaleava of the Volunteers and potentially Bulldogs running back Trevor Etienne. Injuries could potentially come back to bite someone this weekend.
Georgia Bulldogs Running Back Trevor Etienne Ruled Out For the Tennessee Volunteers Game
Etienne was ruled on Thursday night with an injury on the SEC injury report ahead of Saturday’s big matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers. He has been one of the most important pieces of Georgia’s offense this season.
Etienne last week only rushed for 24 yards on six carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 4.0 yards per carry. They lost to the Ole Miss Rebels last weekend 28-10. This season, Trevor Etienne has rushed for 477 yards on 95 carries and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
He has also caught 23 passes for 140 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 6.1 yards per reception. It will be interesting to see how the Bulldogs’ offense can operate without him against a very good Tennessee Volunteers defense.

And there goes the whole “UGA won and Florida lost their best RB” claim. Would be fighting for RB2 with a true freshman here.

Now is Tennessee’s best chance. Need to win and then play Texas / Texas A&M in SEC Championship.
Tennessee v Texas in the SEC Championship to determine who the real UT is.

All eyes will be on Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck on Saturday night with Trevor Etienne out of the lineup. Beck has not played well this season against elite teams. If he doesn’t look good this weekend, the odds are they will lose again and potentially be out of the playoffs this season.
