“This Guy Is Cursed”: Fans React As Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy Faces Another Injury During Giants Showdown

The Minnesota Vikings were able to secure a close 16-13 win against the New York Giants in their week 16 showdown on Sunday, and while Kevin O’Connell’s team gathered its 7th win of the season, they had to rule out their quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, due to an injury yet again.

McCarthy, who was the 10th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, had to miss his whole rookie year after suffering a season-ending knee injury during one of the NFL preseason games.

In 2025, the Vikings quarterback already missed a few games because of an ankle injury and a concussion, and has now added another hand injury to this list that took place during the Giants game.

McCarthy’s injury came after a hit by the Giants’ Brian Burns towards the end of the first half, which led to the Vikings QB’s exit from the game.

McCarthy will undergo more tests tomorrow, but it has been announced to have avoided a broken bone.

This guy is cursed.” one fan reacted.

Kevin O’Connell has now injured Christian Darrisaw and JJ McCarthy in back to back seasons because of his fuckin retarded playcalling with no time left in a half. He legit deserves someone to go up and punch him in the face.” another fan commented.

I rooted hard for McCarthy. Maybe he turns it around next year. But you can’t count on it at this point. His inability to stay on the field is even worse than his actual play. I say get aggressive as you can this offseason for a legitimate QB. Not a feel-good fringe-starter.” another fan wrote.

Vikings fans again under reacting to how bad of a season this has been. I am the biggest J.J. McCarthy fan in the world but when you play 8.5 games in two seasons how can you go into next season with him as the starter? Yes he has shown some major flashes but c’mon everybody.” another fan pointed out.

“Doesn’t matter how much better McCarthy gets, if he can’t stay healthy and on the field, none of that will mean a damn thing.” another fan added.

Soft bitch  hes always injured when hes playing like shit. Never see him complain when hes playing those shitty defenses.” another fan expressed their frustration.

Analyst Advises Fans To Push Brakes on the J.J. McCarthy Hype

CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan gave fans a warning to contain their excitement for J.J. McCarthy after he helped the Vikings secure a thrilling blowout win against the Washington Commanders with an overall score of 31-0.

After McCarthy completed 16 of his 23 passes and threw for 163 yards while securing three touchdowns, Sullivan noted that while McCarthy’s performance was a good one and that it would make people plant flags for him to be the franchise quarterback, it shouldn’t be a closed deal just yet.

The analyst highlighted that it was an encouraging step for the Vikings QB, but we are not ready to go as far as to state he has fully reestablished himself as the franchise’s “cornerstone under center.”
