Week Five of the college football season started off where Week Four left off, with college football players faking injuries to stop the clock, and this time, it happened with Ole Miss.
Last week, during the Tennessee vs. Oklahoma game, one of the Sooner’s defensive linemen fell down on purpose and faked an injury to stop the Tennesssee’s hurry-up offense. ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit called it unethical.
Many people agreed with Herbstreit’s take; fans want it out of the game. However, stopping it will be hard since nobody knows if the player is injured or not. The same thing happened in the Kentucky vs. Ole Miss game Saturday afternoon.
Ole Miss Player Fakes Injury
During the first half of the Ole Miss game, Rebels running back Matt Jones fell down on purpose after quarterback Jaxson Dart told him to fall.
Usually, the defense fakes an injury to stop the opposing offense from running the hurry-up, but this time, it was the offense, which was odd.
Blatant fake injury from Ole Miss vs. Kentucky😬

Many fans are sick of seeing games stopped by players faking injuries, and they have taken to social media to express their opinions and reactions on the subject.

Need to outlaw this immediately—Players who stop the game for an injury need to be held out of the game for the rest of the possession

This is ridiculous man

Wow, should sit out for rest of quarter or half and call it ”player safety protocol”.

That is so wrong

Something has to be done about it
