“Keeping Those Florida & LSU Doors Open”: Fans React As Lane Kiffin Drops Cryptic Response on Potentially Leaving Ole Miss

The curiosity around Lane Kiffin’s next step in his coaching career is growing day by day, while some individuals believe he is in a great place at Ole Miss and that he should continue building his legacy there, others believe he could go for a better job where there is a greater possibility of winning a national championship.

The two places that are in the top running for Kiffin to go to are LSU and Florida, along with some interest from Auburn and even the New York Giants upon Brian Daboll’s firing.

After Ole Miss defeated the Gators in a 34-24 matchup in week 12 on Saturday, Kiffin was asked about the chances of him coaching the Rebels in the 2026 college football season, to which he said he loves what they are doing with the program and further appreciated the win they had.

Kiffin also said that talking about his potential move is disrespectful to the players after the kind of win they were able to secure, which sparked various reactions from the fans.

“He gone. That language is the language of those whose agents are working on a $$$ breaking deal with Gators…Too bad.” another fan predicted.

“He obviously is considering leaving. Is there something he wants that Ole Miss can’t or won’t give him? Only thing I could see is that Lincoln Riley could leave USC and he could go back there. Or Maybe he thinks the Dolphins will open up?.” another fan added.

“To me, he is likely keeping his options open and would consider leaving for a program with a history of nattys and Heisman winners. The concern at OM for him is likely ceiling.” another fan wrote.

“Uh-oh. Can’t just say yes and move on? Saying ‘yes’ and then ‘next,’ would have taken one second of talking about it as opposed to almost a minute of talking about it.” another fan added.

“He’s gone- and I think if he leaves for Florida it’s a mistake. I think he is a great fit for Ole Miss and he could win it all there. That being said I don’t know their NIL situation and coaches are always going to jump to the team with bigger pockets.” another fan shared their thoughts.
