The Hurricanes were not the obvious choice for their spot in this year’s playoff bracket, as many fans and analysts thought Marcus Freeman’s Notre Dame was the better team this year; however, due to their losses to Miami and Texas A&M, they were snubbed from the final list.
Carson Beck’s Miami Hurricanes faced the Texas A&M during their college football playoff showdown; however, despite having fairly successful seasons, both teams were seen struggling to put points on the table as they sat at a score of 0-0 until halftime, something that happened for the first time in a playoff game.

Beck, who transferred from Georgia, where he spent five years, came to Miami after he sustained a season-ending injury during the Bulldogs’ SEC championship game last year.
In 2025, the Miami QB completed 263 of 353 passes (74.7%) and threw for 3,072 yards, while securing 25 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, and one rushing touchdown on 38 carries, for a total of 39 rushing yards.
Watching his underwhelming performance against the Aggies on Saturday, fans expressed their frustration:
“Imagine Cam Ward last year with this Miami defense, Carson Beck is actively shitting down his leg in the biggest moments.” one fan commented.
“I’ve watched a lot of football. CFB to be specifically, Carson Beck is the worst fucking QB I’ve ever fucking seen. He makes guys like Nico Iamaleava look promising.” Another fan bluntly expressed their frustration.
“These missed kicks are all on Carson Beck and the offense. Its a windy ass day and they aren’t doing shit to get in better position (although admittedly by now Im probably slapping that kicker on the sideline).” another fan wrote.
“Peak Carson Beck experience, this dude just cannot read a blitz/defense fast enough pre snap. As I’m typing he didn’t pick up a cat blitz and missed a wide open 9 route to his Z WR. This brother stinks.” another fan said.
“This football is butt. Both of these teams suck. That last pass by Carson Beck was ridiculously bad. He’s throwing to a double teamed receiver with a linebacker right in the passing lane (knocked down the pass). Total butt. Then another missed FG. #CFBPlayoff.” Another fan pointed out.
“I said earlier this year I didn’t want Miami to make the CFP and get embarrassed.. this is what I was talking about. Carson Beck and Shannon Dawson are not the people capable of leading a CFP caliber team.” another fan recalled.
Carson Beck Opens Up About Playing Big Games Ahead of the Aggies Showdown
“Obviously, we’re super excited for this opportunity, super excited for the challenge that this is going to um you know, bring towards us, but again, all you got to do is focus on your preparation and continue to work each day. And then ultimately on Saturday, go out and execute.” Beck said.
