    Fall Camp Update

With the season right around the corner, the Buckeyes have begun fall camp for the upcoming season. Ohio State fall camp began last week on Thursday and will go on for the next couple of weeks. They have 25 practices scheduled leading up to opening night against Notre Dame. The offense and defense can both find their rhythms and create a bond in that time. Expectations are always high in Columbus and this year is no different.

Since the start of camp, some players have had the chance to address the media and discuss how everything is going. Running back Treyveyon Henderson has been pushing himself this offseason and feels he will be ready. When he was asked about the 2022 schedule, Henderson is excited for the challenges on the schedule and ready for the challenge. He said, “This year, I feel like we’re gonna have more teams like Penn State, so I’m ready for that.”

The Little Things are most important

The linebackers also had a chance to update how fall camp has been going as well. Linebacker Teradja Mitchell said, “We’re trying to establish the line of scrimmage every time we play.” They are focusing on the process and trying to do the little things right. It is also being emphasized that the linebackers lead the defense and be enforcers. They will be looking for different keys and looks to figure out what a team is going to do. A lot of emphasis is put on knowing the keys and how to execute from there.

A couple of coaches also made their debut during this Ohio State fall camp. This is the first camp for four assistant coaches. Three of the coaches are on the defensive side of the ball while one is on the offense. They are defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, cornerbacks coach Tim Walton, safeties coach Perry Eliano, and offensive line coach Justin Frye.

It is an exciting time when fall camp starts because that means the season is right around the corner. At Ohio State, fall camp produces a winning team because they know how to prepare. Since the Buckeyes have begun Fall Camp, they have started that process. The practices during the season are important, but the real champion is made during the offseason.
