The Atlanta Falcons appear to be at a breaking point, and longtime franchise great Todd McClure believes the clock is ticking on head coach Raheem Morris. After another stretch of blown leads and a fifth straight loss, the pressure in Atlanta is reaching levels that have fans demanding change from owner Arthur Blank.
Morris entered the 2025 season with expectations of stabilizing a talented roster, but instead, the team has unraveled under his leadership. Atlanta’s 3-7 record reflects inconsistency across all phases of play, with late-game collapses exposing both schematic flaws and poor adjustments. The defense, expected to be Morris’ strength, has surrendered nearly 450 yards in consecutive games, including a franchise record to Carolina’s Bryce Young.

McClure acknowledged his respect for Morris’ leadership while admitting the reality of the moment. In the NFL, production determines survival, and results have been scarce. Offensively, Atlanta’s play-calling has failed to generate rhythm, while quarterback injuries and missed opportunities have fueled frustration inside and outside the locker room. Fans have made their stance clear across social media and talk radio, calling for a full-scale reset after yet another wasted season.
Reports suggest Blank is growing impatient as the organization faces an eighth straight year without a winning record. The owner’s well-documented desire to return to Super Bowl contention has only intensified the scrutiny surrounding both Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot. Even insiders predict Atlanta could soon become one of the league’s most likely landing spots for offseason coaching changes.
Atlanta Falcons Icon Todd McClure Talks About Raheem Morris’ Situation

McClure shared his thoughts about Morris’ job with Atlanta. This is detailed more in an interview the former NFL star did for Betway Insider.
What are your thoughts on Raheem Morris’ position as head coach of the Falcons?
The kitchen is getting hot over there.
I love Raheem. I love the way he coaches his team, but this league is about production. On the offensive side especially, the coordinator and scheme have struggled this year.
I’m sure Mr. (Arthur) Blank is going to get antsy. They got a taste of the Super Bowl a few years back with Matt Ryan, but Mr. Blank is getting older now. He’d love to see them get back to the Super Bowl and win it.
So, I would say there is a lot of heat in that kitchen right now.
The Falcons’ issues extend beyond the scoreboard, with a dispirited locker room and diminishing faith among the fan base. For many, the loss of accountability has become symptomatic of the Morris era, making his future increasingly uncertain.

As McClure put it, the temperature around Morris’ tenure is rising fast, and only victories can cool things down. With the season spiraling and patience waning in Atlanta, the heat in that kitchen may be reaching its breaking point.
