Former NFL player Shannon Sharpe will be looking for a new job after ESPN made its decision on his employment.

Sharpe is believed to have settled a lawsuit with accuser Gabriella Zuniga worth approximately $23 million. Zuniga claimed Sharpe sexually assaulted her multiple times.

Per Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, ESPN fired Sharpe following news of the settlement.

“ESPN has cut ties with NFL Hall of Famer and media analyst Shannon Sharpe less than two weeks after he settled a lawsuit in which his ex-girlfriend accused him of rape, sources briefed on the decision told The Athletic on Wednesday,” Marchand wrote.

The three-time Super Bowl champion joined the sports network in 2023. Sharpe left the network in April amid news of the lawsuit.

“step in the right direction for ESPN, still long ways to go. get rid of all these ex pros who don’t actually watch sports actively,” wrote another.
“With this and with one of the Morris twins getting arrested, it hasn’t been a good week for the Worldwide Leader in Sports,” argued a fan.
“Steven A is 0-2. First Michael Irvin and now Shannon Sharpe. Somebody else choose the co-host next time,” wrote another.
