Erika Kirk and Candace Owens sat down on Monday afternoon for a conversation both women knew needed to take place.

The meeting lasted four and a half hours as they addressed weeks of public tension over conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Both women emerged describing the discussion as productive, though they acknowledged disagreements remained.
“Had a very productive conversation with @RealCandaceO,” Kirk said on X. “More to come from both of us. Looking forward to AmFest this week. Time to get back to work.”

Owens echoed the same message, saying that the hours-long conversation involved more agreements than she had anticipated. “Erika and I had an extremely productive 4 1/2 hour meeting that I think we both feel should have taken place a lot earlier than it did,” Owens stated.

“We agreed much more than I had anticipated. Of course, we also disagreed on various points and people as well. Most importantly, we were able to share intel and clarify intent,” Owens added.
She added that she would share more details the next day because she was tired, but wanted to say that everything was discussed openly and it helped ease the tension.
Conservative followers question Erika Kirk’s actions and priorities
Social media reactions to Kirk’s post-meeting update revealed deep skepticism from critics who questioned her priorities and motivations.
“Shouldn’t you be at home raising your kids like you tell other women to do?” one commenter asked, pointing to the apparent contradiction between Kirk’s advocacy for traditional gender roles and her leadership of Turning Point USA.
A second user expressed permanent distrust. “Nothing you do or say will ever change our opinions of you. Nothing. No amount of money will ever truly convince anyone. You can buy their loyalty. You can buy their silence. But you cannot make them believe you are something you’re not,” they wrote.
Others dismissed the entire meeting as theater. “Nobody gives a fuck. What work? Grifting?” a third commenter stated bluntly.
Kirk’s decision to publicly discuss the private meeting drew criticism. “not the behavior of a grieving widow. and why are u reporting to the public about a private meeting? i swear ure weird asf,” a fourth commenter posted.
The harshest comments accused both women of manipulation. “You are both manipulators. Yes, let’s not ask anymore questions about Charlie’s death and let’s get back to work (even though he believed women should be home raising the family) tpusa, erika and candace are all part of the same elite team!” a fifth user wrote.
The meeting came days after Kirk told CBS News to “Stop” when asked what she wanted to say to Owens about the conspiracy theories.
