The New York Giants will face the Philadelphia Eagles at home on Thursday night. The Eagles are 4-1 and the Giants are 1-4.

New York lost to the New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia lost to the Denver Broncos in week five. This could be an ugly game on Thursday night football. There is a good chance that there are more Eagles than Giants fans at MetLife Stadium. If New York falls flat on Thursday night, head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen will have more questions to answer about this horrific NFL team.
New York Giants HC Brian Daboll Enters Hot Seat Chatter

Mike Jones of the Athletic listed many different head coaches who are on the hot seat entering week six of the 2025 NFL season. He believes that Daboll is no doubt in the conversation. Jones said,
“The former Bills offensive coordinator already entered this year on thin ice after a failed Daniel Jones experiment — which only looks worse and worse by the day as the former Giant is now playing like a star with the Colts. Daboll needed to guide the Giants back to relevancy in the NFC East this year, but thus far, his team has continued to struggle. With Russell Wilson wildly ineffective, Daboll opted to play the final cards in his back pocket: turning to Jaxson Dart as the starter. Dart did help the Giants to their first win of the season in Week 4, but a rash of turnovers from the young gunslinger cost the Giants against the previously winless Saints. If Dart can ascend (even with top wide receiver Malik Nabers lost for the season), Daboll can sell hope and possibly earn himself another year. If this season ends disastrously, he’s likely gone.”
Another issue with the Giants is not only poor coaching by Daboll, but horrendous roster construction by Schoen. If New York were to be blown out against the Eagles, would owner John Mara pull the plug on Daboll and Schoen already?
Some Giants fans think at some point this season that Mike Kafka could become the interim head coach and Brandon Brown could be the interim general manager. The schedule is not going to get any easier for this football team. New York fans are concerned that finishing with a 1-16 record is in play.
If that’s the case, they are going to clean house once again and try and find the right head coach and general manager again. They have been unsuccessful at those since getting rid of Tom Coughlin and Jerry Reese. Daboll has not done well as head coach and there is a reason why former Giants players are successful elsewhere.
