Solider Field has been the home for the Chicago Bears since 1971. Currently the team has signed a purchase agreement for Arlington park on 9/29/21, Arlington park is 30 miles out of the city. What does this mean for Chicago? What will be done to Solider field?
Not the end but the beginning
Chicago Bears have reset their Quarterback again, coach and offensive coordinator. Now possibly a new stadium, could this be a step in the right direction? Justin Fields is the franchise and Luke Getsy is excited to work with his new quarterback. Matt Eberflus, a previous defensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts, brings a new and fresh look. These are all pivotal pieces to building a new or fresh dynasty. Why a new stadium? Well, the answer is simple, the current stadium holds 61,500 fans and the average attendance in the NFL last year was 67,254 (according to the sports business journal). The Bears are losing revenue and the amount of fans that can attend a game very year. Huntington Park could help grow a fan base and revenue to a team in the middle of a rebuild. Solider field is in near downtown, where Huntington park would be outside of town, which is also a plus for fans. This also gives Chicago Fire FC their own stadium where that they can call home, not a shared home.
