The Missouri Tigers have seen the growth of coach Eli Drinkwitz, and on Thanksgiving Day, they have officially agreed to keep their partnership going with an extension. With the news about the Missouri Tigers keeping and extending their college football coach, let’s take a deeper dive into the decision and what the contract reportedly looks like.
Eli Drinkwitz Signs Extension with Missouri Tigers

Eli Drinkwitz has been rewarded for his success as he has agreed to a new six-year extension with an annual average contract of $10.75 million.
Drinkwitz commented about his excitement in the press release as he is ready to continue building towards a championship contender.
“My family and I believe deeply in the vision and leadership from our administration and are incredibly happy to continue calling Columbia our home. I’m grateful for the unwavering support of President Mun Choi, the Board of Curators, led by Chari Todd Graves and incoming Vice Chair Bob Blitz, along with our athletics director Laird Veatch. We’re also incredibly thankful for the support of our generous donors and NIL partners. I’m committed to continuing our work to build Mizzou into a championship program.”
Missouri Tigers Athletic Director Laird Veatch also commented in the press release about the extension for the coach.
“Under his vision and leadership, Coach Drinkwitz has transformed the standard for Mizzou Football and united our entire program and fan base behind a clear pursuit of excellence.”
The caoch mentioned last week that he was not in a hurry to leave the program, indicating a potential deal could happen. He has brought significant success to the Tigers as he has spent six years as the coach thus far, with a 45-28 record and a 2-2 bowl game record.
With the Missouri Tigers looking to take the next step in a loaded SEC, inking Eli Drinkwitz to an extension is a major step to future success.
