The Philadelphia Eagles (4-1) are preparing to take on the New York Giants (1-4) on the road for a Thursday Night Contest.  Philadelphia is coming off their first loss of the season and is looking to get back on track.

Fortunately, they got some good news on Wednesday.

There’s big news in the Eagles’ TNF contest against the Giants

There has been a lot of attention focused on their star running back Saquon Barkley, who has been questionable for this game:

After he received a “did not participate” designation on Monday’s estimated injury report, Barkley was a limited participant during Tuesday’s practice due to a knee injury.

Given how important the Penn State alum is to Philadelphia’s success, there were reasons for fans to be concerned heading into its Week 6 matchup against his former team.

Fortunately for Barkley and the Eagles, the team has announced that he was a full participant during Wednesday’s practice, signaling that he should be good to go against New York.

Barkley now being a full participant in practice is a great sign for Philadelphia. This means that, not only will he likely suit up on Thursday, but he should not have many limitations, if any at all.

When healthy, Barkley is one of the most electric and dynamic offensive players in the NFL today. He played a crucial role in the Eagles’ successful Super Bowl run last season, rushing for a league-best 2,005 yards and finishing third in AP MVP voting. Additionally, he is a fantastic fit alongside quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is also a threat to gain yardage on the ground.

Though there is no denying his impact with the Eagles, Barkley has not looked like the best version of himself to begin the new season.

Through five weeks, the New York native has recorded 267 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Additionally, he has 17 receptions for 128 receiving yards with one touchdown.

Of the 16 games he played last season for the Eagles, Barkley rushed for at least 100 yards in 11 of them. He has yet to reach that mark this season, with his highest total being 88 yards in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

While his early performance is not too promising, Barkley will have a great opportunity to get things back on track against the Giants, who are allowing 140 rushing yards per game, which ranks 26th in the NFL.

The Eagles will travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the Giants on “Thursday Night Football” at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
