Eagles-Dolphins Shows Tua And Hill’s Connection
The first play, play action to Tyreek Hill from Tua Tagovailoa, was all it took to get Miami fans excited. If the Eagles-Dolphins game will be remembered for anything it will be for the very first pass.
Tua played the first quarter and his 6-7-121-1-0 was against the Eagles backups. Hill only played the first drive. His 2-64 receiving set the tone for the rest of the night. Fans wanted to see if their connection looked as good in games as it had in camp. Now fans and coaches hope what they saw tonight carries over to week one against the New England Patriots.
What Will Miami Do With Skylar Thompson?
Hard choices await Miami in other areas, but the one question many Dolphins want answered is whether or not Skylar Thompson will be on the roster. Thompson’s play in all three preseason games caught fans attention. His 36-48-450-5-0 in the preseason warrants his making the final 53 man roster.
The only issue in keeping three quarterbacks is that Miami has to let a player go where they may need the depth. Figuring out what area of the team they can afford to cut someone will be crucial.
Very Little Not To Like For Miami, But Team Still Has Work To Do
Complaining when any team wins 48-10 seems ridiculous. The Dolphins allowed a 67 yard touchdown run due to poor tackling. Teddy Bridgewater struggled for the second straight week. Preston Williams fumbled a punt inside Miami’s own ten. The Dolphins defense held Philadelphia to a field goal, thanks in part to an offensive pass interference call.
Miami’s running game finally looked the way Head Coach Mike McDaniel wanted it to, rushing 35-203 and a touchdown. Again the Eagles starters sat out this game, so no one will get too excited. Coaches and players focus turns to final roster cuts and preparation for the Patriots. September 11 now offers even more anticipation for everyone after what the Dolphins showed tonight.
