Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made a special appearance on the ‘New Heights’ podcast recently and spilled much tea on his personal life and career with the Kelce brothers. Johnson also shed light on the immense toll that wrestling takes on a person’s body and life, when compared to NFL players like Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce.

The famed wrestler turned actor especially spoke out about the effects of his career on his own personal relationships, including his marriages. Johnson has been married twice, first to his college girlfriend and later to singer Lauren Hashian.
“It’s tough being on the road every night, because what that means is, and it’s tough on your body. You’re getting banged up every night, you’re working hurt every night, and you’re trying to keep up. And also it takes its toll on marriages and on relationships. It’s hard.” Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson explained in the ‘New Heights’ podcast.

‘The Rock’ also spoke much about his initial desire to actually become a football player just like the Kelce brothers in his podcast appearance. Johnson admitted that if he didn’t become a wrestler, he would have wound up as an NFL player, especially since he dazzled in the sport in his collegiate career, along with a brief stint with the Canadian Football League.
However, things definitely worked well in Johnson’s favor, since he emerged as a fantastic wrestler in the ring. The blessings did not stop there since a stellar acting career for the popular wrestler came out of his time in the ring.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Reveals His Dad Was Not Happy With Him Wrestling
In the same episode, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson also revealed that his own father was not happy with his son’s choice to pursue wrestling as a career. Johnson apparently made the decision to go into wrestling after he was cut from the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders after a mere two months there.

“I got cut from Canada, I go back home, and I don’t have a place to go now. I got to move back in with my mom and dad in their little apartment in Tampa, Florida. That was so sobering for me because it’s like, there’s the dream, it all goes away.” Johnson said.
After thinking it through very well, Johnson told his parents about his decision to pursue professional wrestling. But, his father, who was a wrestler himself, was completely against it initially, as he knew only too well the challenges that come with the sport having experienced it first-hand.
