Drake Maye’s Wife Steals Spotlight After Ditching Patriots Game for Girls’ Trip

The New England Patriots are 3-2 heading into Week 6 against Siants. Drake Maye’s putting together a solid second season with 1261 yards and seven touchdowns through five games. The spotlight’s on the 23-year-old quarterback tonight in a critical divisional showdown.

His wife Anne wasn’t in the stands cheering him on. She chose a different kind of reunion weekend instead, and social media caught every minute of it.

Ann Maye shared photos from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, wearing boots with her college friends while her husband traveled to Buffalo for the game. The timing caught attention because Sunday Night Football against a division rival was in no way a bye week but an absolutely game night.

She captioned the pictures from her Tar Heels reunion weekend, standing on the far right in what fans quickly called elite boots.

Both of them have a deep connection to North Carolina. Maye starred for the Tar Heels before becoming the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Anne attended UNC alongside him, and her brother Tad even played quarterback with Maye on the same roster.

The couple’s been together since middle school and tied the knot in June 2025, making this one of their first big separations since the wedding.

Ann is usually at Patriots games supporting her husband from the sidelines. She’s been spotted at Gillette Stadium several times this season, which made her absence this past Sunday Night even more noticeable.

The timing of her girls’ trip wasn’t ideal either. Bill Belichick’s North Carolina squad got crushed 38-10 by Clemson while she was out with friends.

Maye had to stay locked in against the Bills’ front seven Sunday night, while his wife enjoyed sorority-style memories back in Chapel Hill. The Patriots came into the game at 2–2, needing a win to stay in the AFC East race. They haven’t exactly dominated this season, and every divisional matchup already felt like it could shape the playoff race.

Who is Ann Michael Maye, Drake Maye’s Wife

Ann Michael Maye, née Hudson, is New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye’s wife and childhood sweetheart. They started dating at just 12 years old after meeting at William Amos Hough High School in Cornelius, North Carolina. Their teenage romance continued through college, and interestingly, Ann’s brother Tad even played quarterback alongside Drake at UNC.

Ann majored in Business Administration at the University of North Carolina with double minors in Entrepreneurship and Conflict Management.

She was also a standout soccer player during her time there. Drake proposed in January 2025, and the couple married on June 21, 2025, with Drake posting on Instagram, “What a night.”

Marrying at 22 may seem early today, but the couple had already spent 10 years together and felt confident in their decision. Ann regularly supports Drake at NFL games and remains a strong presence in his professional journey.
