The Clemson Tigers finished with a 9-3 record during the 2024 regular season and won the ACC Championship against the SMU Mustangs before they lost to the Texas Longhorns in the first round of the college football playoffs. Entering the 2025 season, there is a lot of optimism about Clemson’s football program potentially being on the national stage once again.

The Tigers under head coach Dabo Swinney have been to the national title game four times. Clemson won two and they have lost two. This could be the best team they have had since the 2019 season. They have a lot of the roster returning from the 2024 season. One player who could play a role in this offense for quarterback Cade Klubnik is wide receiver Tyler Brown.

ESPN Lists Clemson Tigers Wide Receiver Tyler Brown As a Sleeper To Watch For In 2025

ESPN listed one player for each of the potential Top 25 teams for the 2025 college football season as a potential sleeper. For Clemson, they listed Brown as the potential player who could be the sleeper. Andrea Adelson said about the wide receiver entering the year,

“One of the reasons Clemson is expected to compete for a national championship this season is the return of its stellar receiver group, which made vast improvements a year ago to help the Tigers offense rediscover its footing. Antonio Williams, Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore have received the bulk of the headlines nationally, but don’t forget about Brown, a freshman All-American in 2023 who was forced to take a redshirt last season with an ankle injury. Coach Dabo Swinney spoke highly about Brown during spring practice and is expecting him to have a big role in the offense. Adding depth to a position that had been a weak spot until last season is crucial.”

Brown only caught five passes for 30 yards receiving and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 6.0 yards per reception in 2024. There is a chance that he could explode in this offense for Clemson in 2025 if healthy. Brown is 5’11” and weighs 180 lbs. There is so much depth at the wide position for this football team and a lot of talent to make them national title contenders. Clemson make its mark known when they face the LSU Tigers in Week 1 of the year.
