President Donald Trump pales in comparison in importance compared to the “real” goal of Russian President Vladimir Putin, at least according to how analyst Stephen A. Smith understood the situation of the dynamics between the two world leaders.
In his recent appearance on the PBD Podcast, analyst Stephen A. Smith revealed what he believed to be the ultimate and never-changing goal of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“What has Putin’s been what has been his number one mission, according to all the reports since he’s gained power?” Smith asked. “He was appalled at what happened in 1991. He was appalled that Reagan was able to tell Gorbachev turn that tear down that wall and ultimately in 1991 that it happened and the dissolution of the Soviet Union as we once knew it occurred. What has he been on a mission to do since 2008?”
“And now the American people finds itself in a situation where we’re dependent on Trump, you understand, to resolve this issue. And Trump bloviating, I can end this. I’ve got a relationship with these. No. Well, there are people that believe that that believed you got this kind of relationship with Putin. You can help put a stop to this. No, you can’t.”
“Because Putin has come and his mission is far greater than friendships or anything like that. Assuming he has any. This man, whatever they want to call him, KGB, former KGB murderer, all this other stuff they try to say about. I don’t know what it is. I do know this. This man is on a mission to reclaim Europe. He wants it all. He’s not going to stop at Ukraine. He’s not going to stop at Ukraine. I do believe that with all my heart.”

Russian Official Mocks Donald Trump, Elon Musk Feud
Senior Russian security official Dmitry Medvedev weighed in on the ongoing feud between Donald Trump and Elon Musk, offering a sarcastic take on their heated exchange. Medvedev, who serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, joked that Russia would be willing to mediate peace between the two for a “reasonable fee” and even accept Starlink shares as payment.
“We are ready to facilitate the conclusion of a peace deal between D and E for a reasonable fee and to accept Starlink shares as payment,” Medvedev posted on his X account. “Don’t fight, guys😱!”

Medvedev’s comments reflect Russia’s tendency to capitalize on Western political disputes, using humor and sarcasm to insert itself into global conversations. His remarks come at a time when Donald Trump is actively trying to negotiate an end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, making the timing of his feud with Musk particularly notable.
