US President Donald Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said in a recent media briefing that the POTUS had something to do with Shedeur Sanders being drafted by the Cleveland Browns. President Trump seems to have been closely following the 2025 NFL draft and got irate when no team chose Sanders in the first couple of rounds.

President Trump took to Truth Social to express how team owners are missing out on a great talented quarterback like Sanders. The sitting President of the United States also mentioned that he expected great things out of Sanders, mainly because he carries the genes of his father, Deion Sanders, who was also a stunning player during his time.

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID? Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be ‘picked’ IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!” US President Donald Trump said on Truth Social about Shedeur Sanders not being drafted in the first couple of rounds of the draft.

“All I will say is the President put out a statement, and a few rounds later, he was drafted. So I think the facts speak for themselves.” Karoline Leavitt said to reporters in the media briefing about President Trump possibly causing Sanders to be finally drafted in the NFL.

US President Donald Trump has always been a strong NFL fan. One of his first tasks as president of the United States was to attend the Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. The POTUS supported the Eagles who went on to lift the Super Bowl trophy.

US President Donald Trump played a game of golf with Philadelphia Eagles running back, Saquon Barkley, on Saturday at his golf club in New Jersey, two days before hosting the Super Bowl winners at the White House for a celebration.

While President Trump and Barkley seemed to be enjoying themselves, social media users could not hold back their criticism of the latter. Numerous NFL fans tagged Saquon Barkley in trashy comments, condemning him for playing golf with the Republican president. Barkley immediately called out these haters with a tweet through his X account, admitting that he plays with whoever the President of the United States is, since he respects the office.
