How do you deal with Donald Trump? For analyst and broadcaster Stephen A. Smith, it could be as simple as having the courtesy to greet him before an interview.
In one of his recent videos, ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith shared his honest opinion on how to deal with President Donald Trump, in light of criticism thrown at him for his extreme movies and decisions. For the analyst, it all boils down to appeasing him one way or the other.
“That’s exactly why you have to make a decision,” Smith said in his commentary. “Whether you’re an elected politician or you’re somebody that’s going to have to do business with him, you’re going to have to recognize you’re going to have to appease him to some degree. You’re going to have to do that.”
He went on to use his personal experience with Trump as an example of his idea.
“I’ve been critical of him for years. But he was nice on News Nation. You know why? I said, ‘Good evening, Mr. President. Good to talk to you.’ Something as simple as that.”

Donald Trump Gives His Approval to Stephen A. Smith’s Presidential Bid
Donald Trump recently voiced his support for Stephen A. Smith as a potential presidential candidate, stating that he would “love to see him run” in the 2028 election. The endorsement came during a NewsNation town hall hosted by Chris Cuomo and Bill O’Reilly, where Trump joined the discussion via phone call.
When asked about Smith’s possible candidacy, Trump praised his entertainment skills, saying that people “love watching him” and that his ability to engage audiences would be crucial for the race.

Smith, a longtime ESPN host and NBA commentator, has previously dismissed the idea of running for office, stating that he is “not qualified” for the presidency. However, in recent months, he has hinted at leaving “all doors open”, acknowledging that elected officials and political pundits have encouraged him to consider a run.
Smith responded to Trump’s comments on his show, The Stephen A. Smith Show, expressing surprise at the endorsement and recognizing the significance of a sitting president publicly backing him. While he did not confirm any plans to run, he acknowledged that the support from Trump adds weight to the conversation.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, has previously hinted at a third presidential run, an idea that faced a lot of backlash and criticism, particularly as it would violate the current terms of the Constitution.
