Donald Trump has been in office for three months and he has made it clear that he will be taking illegal aliens in the United States seriously. Gang affiliated migrants have especially been targeted.
However, fans are split over a professional athlete being swept up in the deportation process.
Fans Split As Donald Trump Has Athlete Deported From The United States (Report)

Because of a “misinterpreted” tattoo on his arm, a Venezuelan soccer player was deported to El Salvador:
Jerce Reyes Barrios, 36, was in the U.S. awaiting a ruling on his asylum claim when he was detained by agents who thought he was part of Tren de Aragua – a transnational narcoterrorist and criminal organization from Venezuela – last September.
Authorities pointed to one of his tattoos for the arrest, claiming it signaled gang affiliation. Tren de Aragua has been designated a foreign terror group by Trump.
The tattoo in question is of a soccer ball with a crown, rosary, and the word “Dios,” which means God in Spanish. As per Barrios’ attorney, Linette Tobin, his tattoo artist had confirmed that the design was inspired by the logo of his favorite soccer team, Real Madrid, not gangs.

Barrios’ attorney and family members, however, have been unable to contact him since he was deported and have no information about his condition. It is now unclear if his final asylum hearing scheduled for April 17 in San Diego will continue. “He has never been arrested or charged with a crime,” Tobin said in a sworn statement this week.
Barrios’ uncle revealed in a Facebook post last week that the family only discovered his rendition to El Salvador when they saw him in viral videos posted by the Trump administration, in which it celebrated what it said was the mass deportation of violent members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
“We were surprised to see him in the videos being released on social media of those deported to El Salvador,” said Jair Barrios. He went on to explain how the crown part of his nephew’s tattoo is also used by the controversial Venezuelan gang but insisted that Jerce’s was purely soccer-related.
