No matter your opinion of Donald Trump, everyone agrees that he is one of the most controversial public figures in the world. Since re-taking office in January 2025, he has made numerous public appearances at sporting events. Most notably, he became the first sitting President to attend the Super Bowl.
However, there is one former long-time NFL starter who doesn’t take too fondly to Trump.
“Un-American” Donald Trump Absolutely Trashed By 127-Game NFL Starter

One former NFL player believes the Dodgers’ visit to President Donald Trump’s White House on Monday was an affront to democracy:
“I have no respect for ANY athlete that visits this White House,” ex-NFL punter Chris Kluwe wrote to X. “You are unAmerican if you do so, as is anyone who supports or enables this administration. Let me repeat that. You (sic) actions are in *direct* opposition to the Declaration of Independence.
The Dodgers made their trip to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, DC, to celebrate their 2024 World Series over the New York Yankees.
Kluwe, the Minnesota Vikings’ punter from 2005-12, was arrested in February for peacefully protesting at a Huntington Beach City Council meeting the installation of a plaque at the library that read “Magical, Alluring, Galvanizing, Adventurous,” which spelled MAGA, the political movement (“Make America Great Again” led by Trump.
Kluwe’s messages came as the Dodgers hung out with Trump, who wouldn’t acknowledge California’s senators, Democrats Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla, and drew laughs for a joke about them. Trump also took a photo with Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw and owner Mark Walter and shared a moment with Shohei Ohtani, who he told to post in front of the Declaration of Independence.
