President Donald Trump got questioned by analyst Stephen A. Smith in light of his recent shift in tone with regards to his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In one of the recent episodes of his program “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” the ESPN analyst got honest about his douibts on the reality of the dynamics between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
“I’m not here just to point the finger at Donald Trump,” Smith said. “Like they said, President Biden and at the time could have done something about all of this, but he refused to apply these so-called secondary sanctions.”
“Why not? See, this is why relationships with other nations or with specific dignitaries should have our proverbial eyebrows raised because it smells. What’s up with Trump and Putin? Why are you not dealing with this man? Why are you letting him do this to Ukraine knowing that it has most of Europe scared shitless?”
During Donald Trump’s first term, his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin was often characterized by diplomatic overtures and a willingness to engage in direct negotiations. Trump frequently praised Putin’s leadership, emphasizing the potential for improved U.S.-Russia relations.
However, his approach raised concerns among critics who believed he was too lenient on Russia, particularly regarding election interference and geopolitical maneuvers. Despite these concerns, Trump maintained a transactional stance, viewing Russia as a strategic player rather than an adversary.

As Trump entered his second term, the tone of his interactions with Putin began to shift. While he initially sought a diplomatic reset, tensions grew over Russia’s continued aggression in Ukraine and its deepening ties with China.
Trump became increasingly frustrated with Putin’s reluctance to engage in meaningful peace negotiations. This frustration led to sporadic threats of sanctions, though Trump remained hesitant to take decisive action against Moscow.
Donald Trump Calls Putin Out: “He’s Playing With Fire!”
U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that the Russian leader is “playing with fire” following a series of intense missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.
In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed that Russia has avoided “really bad things” only because of his influence, suggesting that the situation could have been far worse without his involvement.
He posted: “What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!”

Donald Trump’s criticism of Putin marks a noticeable shift in tone, as he has previously maintained a more diplomatic approach toward the Russian leader. However, the recent escalation in violence appears to have tested his patience, leading him to publicly condemn Putin’s actions.
