US President Donald Trump, reiterated his statements from before about wanting the Washington Commanders to go back to their ‘Redskins’ name. In a recent conversation with reporters, President Trump was asked about different NFL teams going back to the original names they started out with and the POTUS excitedly spoke about the Commanders and their original ‘Redskins’ tag.
The Washington Commanders went by the ‘Washington Redskins’ for a pretty long time but the name was dropped after many Native American spokespersons called out the franchise. In fact, the team’s logo was also a Native American with a traditional headdress. The team then switched for ‘Washington Football Team’ for a couple of seasons and was then rechristened to Washington Commanders from the 2022 season.
“I love that. I love the sound of that… I think they should do it. I told the mayor and I told people that they should bring back the name. If they bring back the name, you’ll have a lot of excitement. And I mean, Cleveland Indians, how about that? That was an original franchise, 1903 or something, 1906, an original, the Cleveland Indians, and what do they do, they change the name from Indians. What’s wrong with the word Indian? You know who is upset about it? The Indians are upset about it. They’re upset about Redskins, too.” US President Donald Trump said to reporters about wanting the Washington Commanders to go back to being called the ‘Redskins’.

Some time back, US President Donald Trump made headlines with similar statements and it was even rumored that he might not support the Washington Commanders’ new stadium in Washington D.C. if they did not make the change. President Trump’s statements have brought about a mixed reaction from the public, with responses being mostly negative.
US President Donald “Loves” Sydney Sweeney For Being A Republican
In other news, US President Donald Trump was recently asked his opinion on actress Sydney Sweeney being a registered Republican and the POTUS could not hold back his delight. President Trump also remarked that he “now” loved Sydney’ American Eagles jeans ad for which she has been called out immensely.
“She is a registered Republican, oh now I love her ad…You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans…I’m glad you told me that.” US President Donald Trump told the reporter about Sydney Sweeney.
Sydney Sweeney and the American Eagles brand have been greatly called out for the advertisement which uses wordplay on the word ‘jeans’ instead of ‘genes’. The ad seems to be racially insensitive for promoting white ‘jeans’ and many have called for a boycott on the brand.
