The Donald Trump administration has been the center of attention ever since he took office just over two months ago, and it continues to do so. There has been no doubt that he wants to take this country in a different direction than it has been headed in the past. The opinion of that direction varies from person to person.
Donald Trump Sees National Coach Plead For Help “We Need This”

The help of Donald Trump is essential for Mauricio Pochettino. In Pochettino’s opinion, the United States can dominate soccer with Trump’s help:
The U.S. men’s national team coach believes it is only a matter of time before America leads the way in the world’s most popular sport.
He was hired last September to succeed Gregg Berhalter as coach and lead the country into the 2026 World Cup, which it co-hosts with Canada and Mexico.
The 53-year-old Argentinian knows there will be a lot of pressure on him to be successful in the World Cup, especially since the games will be played in North America.
“I think the pressure is going to be there because we are a host. And then it’s a country where the mentality is about winning,” Pochettino said via The Mirror. “You know, in sport, in everything that Americans are involved in, they want to win.
That is the culture. It’s cultural. Of course, it’s going to be a pressure, but a welcome one. That means that we are going to feel the adrenaline that we need to feel.”
“I will say yes,” Pochettino said. “If he asks me, I say yes. President, with your help, with the fans behind [us] hosting the World Cup, all is possible.”
The United States, Canada and Mexico will be hosting, with the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is the home of the New York Giants and Jets.
After finishing in third place in the inaugural World Cup in 1930, Team USA has not gone further than the quarterfinals, a round not reached since 2002.

US Men’s National Team’s historic run of Concacaf Nations League titles ended with a 1-0 loss to Panama in Thursday’s semifinal.
Despite dominating play at SoFi Stadium, Panama scored deep into stoppage time to send the Americans to bronze. During the fourth minute of stoppage time in the second half, substitute forward Cecilio Waterman scored his side’s only on-target shot. It was a brutal way for their run to end, however, the future could look bright for this team. It will be interesting to see if Trump is able to pull any strings to get the World Cup in the United States.
