Donald Trump has been very involved with the NFL during his second presidency. In February, he became the first sitting President to attend the Super Bowl. He welcomed both the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs to the White House, and he’s even made comments about the 2025 NFL Draft.
Now, he is seeing one starting NFL QB take some heat for supporting him.
Donald Trump Sees Starting NFL QB Get Ridiculed For Supporting Him

During a recent rally with President Donald Trump, an NFL quarterback made an appearance on stage:
At a recent local rally, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph was invited on stage by the President. He was introduced as “tall and handsome” by the president when Steelers legend Rocky Bleier got onto the stage.
Given how polarizing the President is, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that the Steelers were inundated with complaints via email in the days afterwards. There were apparently so many angry messages that the team publicly released a statement addressing them:
“We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. As valued fans, your voice is an essential part of what makes our Steelers community and fan base so strong,” the team said.
“We understand that a recent rally in Pittsburgh has generated a range of reactions from our fan base. Our alumni and current players make their own individual decisions that reflect their views, and they do not necessarily represent the view of the entire Pittsburgh Steelers organization. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We appreciate your passion and your continued support of the team.”

On social media, the responses to Rudolph’s presence on stage was about as divisive as the discourse on the President’s policies. Many people praised Rudolph for supporting Trump while others were furious:
“Mason Rudolph is at a rally for Steel workers. The guy just keeps doing all the right things. QB1 (expletive),” one Trump supporter wrote on X.

“Waaa cry harder. People have a right to support those they support. And of course the whiners and haters are going to have their temper tantrums because some higher profile people disagree with them,” a third wrote.
“Steelers should drop mason Rudolph,” a fourth said bluntly.
If it’s any consolation for fans who hate Mason Rudolph now, he may not remain the starting quarterback in Pittsburgh for long. He may soon be replaced by Aaron Rodgers, a quarterback who is… also a supporter of President Trump.
