Saquon Barkley, running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, faced an avalanche of criticism for playing golf with the US President Donald Trump. The POTUS and Barkley were seen playing a game in Trump’s golf club in New Jersey ahead of the White House Super Bowl celebrations.

Social media users immediately took to their platforms to lash out at Barkley for playing golf with the Republican. Barkley was clearly having none of it and took to his X account to let everyone know that he might not respect the president, but he respects the office. Barkley also reminded everyone that he is in fact playing with former president Barack Obama as well.

“lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT. Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump! Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day,” Saquon Barkley tweeted through his X account.

President Donald Trump hosted the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday at the South Lawn of the White House as part of the Super Bowl celebrations. This is a long-time tradition and has been passed down from president to president.

Barkley joined the Philadelphia Eagles in the previous season. Before that, the running back played for the New York Giants from 2018 to 2023. Prior to stepping foot in the league, the 28-year-old played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2015 to 2017. He has won the Super Bowl once in the 2024 NFL season.

Donald Trump Calls NFL Owners Stupid For Not Selecting Shedeur Sanders Early In Draft

President Donald Trump has proved himself to be a strong NFL fan time and time again. The POTUS not only follows the NFL season, but also keenly notes the NFL draft. After Shedeur Sanders was passed by in the first four rounds of the draft, President Trump took to the Truth Social platform to condemn NFL owners.

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” US President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social.

The president of the United States also remarked that Deion Sanders was a great NFL player and thus his son, Shedeur Sanders is also bound to be fantastic. Trump called for Sanders to be picked immediately in the draft.
