Donald Trump has been one of the biggest names when it comes to people surrounding the NFL in recent memory. From attempting multiple times to buy teams, becoming the first sitting President to attend the Super Bowl, commenting on rule changes and team names is also on his list.
Now, there seems to be a group of Native Americans who are all in on Trump.
Donald Trump Sees Native Americans Explode Over Shocking NFL News

Native American organizations are praising Donald Trump after the American President made it clear his stance on the Washington Commanders:
Trump recently declared that if it were up to him, the team’s name would never have changed from Redskins to Commanders. He claimed the new moniker doesn’t have the “same ring” as the old one, and he would love to see it changed back.
Unfortunately, the Commanders’ top brass disagrees, as they have indicated that there will be no reverting, although they did reintroduce some elements in their new 2025 uniforms.
Meanwhile, the Native American Guardians Association is backing Trump over his stance, telling TMZ the President’s statements “validate what Indian Country has been saying for years.”
The organization’s president, Frank Black Cloud, told the outlet the Redskins name “was never a slur, but a symbol of strength, honor, and pride for American Indian people.”

“President Trump is standing with history, with truth, and with American Indian voices that have been silenced for far too long,” he added.
Cloud praised the POTUS for speaking up for American Indians, stating “This is not about nostalgia — it’s about justice.”
“Despite the feelings from Trump and NAGA, our sources told us Monday reconsideration is off the table,” TMZ noted.
New owner Josh Harris has said that the Commanders’ identity has been fully embraced by the organization, claiming that the new name reflects the culture of the franchise, its toughness, and Washington’s military heritage.
Meanwhile, the Commanders have revealed a novel “Super Bowl Era” alternate uniform that is very similar to the old Redskins look, bearing burgundy and gold while featuring classic stripes, and a gold facemask.
Still, while it honors the team’s history, it does not hint at a return to the old name.
