The Miami Dolphins have made up their minds when it come to their 31-year-old star wide receiver. Tyreek Hill suffered season ending injuries to his lower body in their last game. Hill ended the season with 21 receptions for 275 yards and 1 touchdown.
However, now he knows it Miami still wants him to suit up for them in 2026.
In the wake of Tyreek Hill’s season-ending injury, the Dolphins make a big decision about his future with the team.

It appears Tyreek Hill’s future with the Dolphins was already in doubt before he suffered a season-ending knee injury on “Monday Night Football.” His horrific knee dislocation has only made things worse:
The Miami wideout reportedly tore multiple ligaments in the aftermath of the sideline tackle, including his ACL. But even though his agent Drew Rosenhaus said the operation went well, and Tyreek is on the road to a full recovery by Week 1, the Dolphins seem to have their doubts.
According to league sources with CBS Sports, the franchise is already leaning a certain way when it comes to whether or not to bring Hill back for the final year of his three-year, $90 million contract extension.

According to NFL insider Jonathan Jones, general consensus around the league is that the Dolphins will decide to move on from their 31-year-old star by the start of 2026.
Writes Jones: “The five-time first-team All Pro was in the second year of a three-year contract extension with Miami, and league sources expect the Dolphins to release Hill before the start of the next league year in March 2026.”
Adding, “An outright release before the start of the 2026 league year was always on the table regardless of injury due to how Hill’s contract is structured.”
Hill is due to make $16 million guaranteed dollars if he’s still on Miami’s roster by March 14. So it’s reportedly “next to impossible” the Dolphins would keep him around and pay that much money when he wouldn’t even be able to pass a physical yet.

However, just because the Phins are expected to cut him it doesn’t mean they wouldn’t potentially be open to bringing him back on a lesser deal.
A lot of that has to do with how well Tyreek has progressed to that point and who will be calling the shots in Miami at that point.
GM Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel were already entering the year on increasingly warm seats and owner Stephen Ross has made it clear that the organization’s recent results haven’t been acceptable.
“We will take a hard look at where we have fallen short and make the necessary changes to deliver our ultimate goal of building and sustaining a winning team that competes for championships,” Ross said at the end of the 2024 season.
Time will tell if Hill ever wears No. 10 again. But if he’s not able to make a comeback, or chooses to walk away, his career will go down as one of the most unique and dynamic in league history.
