The Miami Dolphins are trying to salvage their 2024 season. After losing Tua Tagovailoa to a concussion earlier in the season, many thought Miami’s season was over. At one point they were 2-6 and all but forgotten about. However, Tua’s return has sparked a three game win streak. Miami is now 5-6 and fighting for a wild card spot in the AFC.
However, their first real test during this winning streak comes on Thanksgiving against the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay is 8-3 and coming off a dominant win over the injury depleted San Francisco 49ers.
However, Miami suddenly got some massive news that could help them for this playoff push.

Following his retirement earlier this year, two-time Super Bowl champion Shaq Barrett is reportedly looking to return to the field:
Barrett signed with the Miami Dolphins back in March but shockingly announced his retirement in July. The Dolphins still hold his contract rights.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who cites his agents, the linebacker has applied for immediate reinstatement.
“Former Pro-Bowl LB Shaq Barrett, who announced his retirement from the NFL in July, has applied to be reinstated to play immediately, per his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. Barrett is coming out of retirement. The Dolphins currently hold Barrett’s contractual rights,” the insider reported on Tuesday.
Barrett won a Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos and another with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He really came into form in Tampa, where he led the league with a remarkable 19.5 sacks en route to Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2019.
