The Miami Dolphins came into the 2022 offseason knowing they had a lot of holes to file. The Dolphins traded away most of their picks to the Kansas City Chiefs for Pro Bowler Tyreek Hill and spent a large part of their salary cap by signing Terron Armstead. Though Miami had a small draft class in 2022, they believe they found the solution to the linebacker hole with Channing Tindall.
With the 102 overall pick the Dolphins selected Georgia linebacker Channing Tindall. The pick has gone under the radar, but could be a key addition for the defense. Tindall played 4 seasons and 50 games while in college. He played all 15 games during their National Championship run and had a career tying eight tackles in that game. During the combine he had ran a 4.47 40 yard dash, one of only three linebackers to clock in under 4.5 seconds.
“For us, it’s exciting that we have a player that’s young but still has upside to develop and that we feel he is on a good progression.” Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said. Channing Tindall is a versatile linebacker with experience on the inside or outside position. With rookies reporting to training camp in less than a week, Tindall looks to be ready to get to work and be a contributor in a defense with high expectations.
