DK Metcalf, who was recently traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers, was apparently considered by the Carolina Panthers according to Dave Canales’ statements on the ‘Up & Adams Show’. The Panthers finished third in the NFC South last season, winning only five games and losing 12.

In the previous season, Carolina did pretty okay on offense with quarterback Bryce Young leading the pack. However, their defense was incredibly awful and the team is desperate to bolster this section of their squad. In a bid to bring more talent into their unit, the Carolina Panthers were dead serious about bringing in DK Metcalf. However, they were too slow as the Pittsburgh Steelers swooped in.

“DK, we had the conversations. You know, there were some interesting conversations that came up over the last couple of weeks. You know, it’s really tempting, but at the same time, we have to address, the needs on defense first.” Dave Canales said on the ‘Up & Adams Show’ about DK Metcalf.

DK Metcalf played for the Seattle Seahawks in the previous season, with whom he has been a part of since 2019. Metcalf apparently put in a trade request after playing for the same team for such a long time. In the previous NFL season, Metcalf managed a total of 66 receptions for 992 yards, scoring five touchdowns for the team.

DK Metcalf Might Play With Aaron Rodgers As Quarterback

While DK Metcalf’s move to the Pittsburgh Steelers has been solidified, it is still unclear as to whether the team might get Aaron Rodgers as quarterback. After being let go by the New York Jets after a shaky couple of seasons, Rodgers is still yet to finalize his decision and seems to be teetering between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings.

Although, most of the odds seem to be stacked in favor of a Steelers and Rodgers marriage. Aaron Rodgers is currently not in the country, and the team is keeping their fingers crossed about his decision.

The Pittsburgh Steelers finished their previous NFL season in second place of the AFC North table, winning ten games and losing seven, just one spot below the Baltimore Ravens. The Pittsburgh Steelers made it to the Wild Card round, but lost disastrously to the Ravens, 28-11, officially being chucked out of the NFL postseason. With additions like Metcalf, the Pittsburgh Steelers will try their best to move up the ladder in the upcoming football season.
