Zo Caswell, fiancée of Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel, faced significant criticism following the team’s 26-8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Her TikTok post, made after the game in which Shedeur Sanders made his second career start, raised questions over the appropriateness of her humor and support for the team during difficult moments.
NFL fans call out Dillon Gabriel’s fiancée Zo Caswell for the timing
“Browns lost what’s new 😂,” Caswell captioned a TikTok video after the defeat, immediately drawing backlash from fans who interpreted it as a jab at the team’s performance under Sanders.

The timing made the caption particularly controversial. Sanders had just won his first career start the previous week against the Raiders, but struggled in his home debut against San Francisco. Gabriel, who recently cleared concussion protocol, remained the backup.
“I don’t remember these captions when ya man was qb1 😒,” one commenter wrote, calling out Caswell for only making sarcastic comments after Gabriel lost his starting job.
Another added: “Love you and your content but very disappointed in this caption😟 need to support this team weather he is in or not.”
Caswell attempted damage control by clarifying her intentions. “For everyone complaining about the caption, I obviously am cheering for the Browns… it’s clearly a joke. If we don’t laugh, we cry,” she commented on her own video.
She later expanded her defense in another statement. “To the people commenting and DMing me disgusting things, you are insanely uninformed and have no clue what you are talking about. I support the Browns WHOEVER is playing 100%. I would joke about us losing when Dillon was playing or not. Please take a joke and calm down. Thanks.”
Despite the backlash, Caswell emphasized her support for the Browns and clarified that her comments were meant as jokes during tough moments. She asked fans to recognize the humor and avoid harsh, uninformed criticism of her loyalty to the team.
Deleted comment of Zo Caswell that made things worse
What really escalated the situation was a since-deleted comment Caswell made claiming insider knowledge about the locker room dynamics. “Everyone in the building wants him to play. But you wouldn’t know that bc you’ve never played in the nfl or been a (coach) right 😂,” Caswell stated, referring to Gabriel.
The comment suggested division within the Browns organization about the quarterback situation, directly contradicting coach Kevin Stefanski’s public stance that Dillon Gabriel was the starting quarterback and Shedeur Sanders would be the backup (QB2).
