Dillon Gabriel, rookie quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, has brought about mixed reactions regarding his performance at training camp. Gabriel is currently ranked QB3 in the Browns depth chart and fans may claim that this spot makes him better than Shedeur Sanders in the quarterback room. However, there are still many who feel that the third-round pick is not as good as he is supposed to be and has several areas of weakness.

Recently, a discussion opened up on X about Dillon Gabriel’s performance, in which a particular social media user listed a number of weaknesses that the quarterback seems to have. The user who goes by ‘tha_buffalo’, also shared a video clip of Gabriel at training camp. The tweet prompted a response from none other than Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s personal coach, Quincy Avery.
“The #Browns have to realize Dillon Gabriel is no where near ready to start
– Can’t see the middle of the field from the pocket
– Struggling with decision making
– Struggling processing under pressure
They’re wasting 1st team reps

“I just want to be super clear in saying NO QB can see over the on line. I do not care what height you are. Unless you are 6’8 it’s a silly thought.” Quincy Avery hit back at the social media user, coming to Dillon Gabriel’s defense.

Dillon Gabriel was thought to be the only rookie quarterback that the Cleveland Browns would go with in the 2025 NFL draft. And it was definitely a surprise to see Shedeur Sanders’ name added to their QB list. Still, with Gabriel being bagged two rounds earlier than Sanders, it is clear that the Browns definitely wanted him on their team after considering his impressive performances for the Oregon Ducks in his senior year.
Dillon Gabriel Scores QB3 Position In Depth Chart
According to an unofficial report, Dillon Gabriel is QB3 in Cleveland Brown’s depth chart, right behind Joe Flacco, who is QB1, and Kenny Pickett, who is QB2. Deion Sanders’ youngest son, Shedeur Sanders, automatically becomes QB4, much to the surprise of his fans.

The Cleveland Browns always did have veteran quarterback Joe Flacco in mind as their starter for the 2025 NFL season. However, it still remains to be seen as to whether Gabriel or Sanders will have an opportunity to start for the team in their upcoming campaign.
