“Dillon Gabriel Can’t Operate”: ESPN Cleveland Radio Has Harsh Criticism For Cleveland Browns QB Dillon Gabriel

The Cleveland Browns will be starting rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel for the fifth straight game against the New York Jets on Sunday. Gabriel in his first four starts has been underwhelming.

With that being said, he has appeared in six games this season for the Browns this season. Gabriel has completed 59.9% of his passes for 702 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. He has not been good. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has given up his play calling duties to offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. If Cleveland were to lose again to the Jets on Sunday, is there any chance that they would play rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders after that?

Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland radio was talking Gabriel on Thursday morning. They believe that he needs to see the field better. Grossi had some harsh words about him and said,

“It’s obvious that Dillon Gabriel can’t operate a NFL offense from the pocket.”

Well, he should be able to operate against a team who just traded away Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner this weekend. If Gabriel does not put up good numbers after the bye week, then this fanbase and radio will call for him to be benched and start Shedeur. Gabriel is 24 years old. Grossi is not the only person to be critical of him. Even if Gabriel struggles again, they probably have no plans to bench him.
